Springtown High School’s varsity girls’ powerlifting team continued its 2019 Class 4A state title defense with another first-place showing over the weekend, dominating the Castleberry Invitational.

The Lady Porcupines clinched the top spot in Castleberry with a 63-point team performance, outperforming second-place Cleburne by nearly a 40-point margin.

Springtown’s individual results from the Castleberry Invitational are: 

• Tatiana Contreras, first in the girls’ 105-pound weight class, squatting 320 pounds, bench pressing 155 pounds and deadlifting 300 pounds for a total weight of 775 pounds

• Britney Yannello, second in the girls’ 105-pound weight class, squatting 225 pounds, bench pressing 100 pounds and deadlifting 260 pounds for a total weight of 585 pounds

• Caitlyn Coleman, first in the girls’ 114-pound weight class, squatting 320 pounds, bench pressing 120 pounds and deadlifting 250 pounds for a total weight of 690 pounds

• Rachel Stephens, second in the girls’ 114-pound weight class, squatting 250 pounds, bench pressing 120 pounds and deadlifting 230 pounds for a total weight of 600 pounds

• Janzen Guzman, fifth in the girls’ 114-pound weight class, squatting 225 pounds, bench pressing 95 pounds and deadlifting 240 pounds for a total weight of 560 pounds

• Myra Castro, first in the girls’ 123-pound weight class, squatting 305 pounds, bench pressing 155 pounds and deadlifting 320 pounds for a total weight of 780 pounds

• Emma Patton, fourth in the girls’ 123-pound weight class, squatting 230 pounds, bench pressing 130 pounds and deadlifting 235 pounds for a total weight of 595 pounds

• Erin Hall, second in the girls’ 132-pound weight class, squatting 270 pounds, bench pressing 150 pounds and deadlifting 255 pounds for a total weight of 675 pounds

• Anaie Rodriguez, third in the girls’ 148-pound weight class, squatting squatting 275 pounds, bench pressing 155 pounds and deadlifting 275 pounds for a total weight of 705 pounds

• Madelynn Vining, first in the girls’ 181-pound weight class, squatting 415 pounds, bench pressing 235 pounds and deadlifting 340 pounds for a total weight of 990 pounds

• Abigail Rodgers, second in the girls’ 181-pound weight class, squatting 275 pounds, bench pressing 180 pounds and deadlifting 320 pounds for a total weight of 775 pounds

• Reaghan Fortner, fifth in the girls’ 198-pound weight class, squatting 300 pounds, bench pressing 135 pounds and deadlifting 285 pounds for a total weight of 720 pounds

• Angela Chavez, second in the girls’ 220-pound weight class, squatting 410 pounds, bench pressing 190 pounds and deadlifting 345 pounds for a total weight of 945 pounds

• Blake Jarvis, first in the girls’ 259-plus weight class, squatting 430 pounds, bench pressing 230 pounds and deadlifting 300 pounds for a total weight of 960 pounds

The Lady Porcupines return to action in the Stephenville Meet Saturday.
