Several players of the Weatherford Bullets semi-pro football team were chosen to play in the 2009 Texas United Football League All-Star game Saturday in Athens. Selections for the annual event were OL/DL Dave Beninati, DT Micah Hooker, OLB Casey Snow, FS John McGuire, OL Jeromy Puckett, RB Mike Armstead, FB Tyrone Donerson, DB/WR Cody Deaver, WR Adam Sharp and SS Jacob Massey.
Weatherford players finish near top of leaderboard

Harley Davis of Weatherford finished in fifth with a score of 81 Tuesday in the Boys 16-18 Division of the NTPGA Junior Golf Tour at Southern Oaks Golf Club. Silas Thorton, also of Weatherford, finished sixth, shooting a combined two-day total of 84. In the Boys 14-15 Division, Bryan Surratt shot a 91 to finish in 12th position.
Weatherford Little League Tournament slated

The 6th Annual Weatherford Little League Invitational Tournament has been scheduled for June 30 — July 5. The tournament is for majors, minors, coach pitch and T-ball in baseball and minors and coach pitch in softball. The entry fee is $225 until June 24 and $275 between June 25 and June 28. No entries will be accepted after June 28. The tournament is open to all rec, pony and little league teams (no select teams) that wish to participate.
