Parker County girls named to TABC all-state team

Peaster's Mandy Makeever has been named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State team for Class 2A. Joining Makeever on the squad are Brock's Kenisha Harris and Paige Parliament.

Lady Eagles’ pitcher Linsey Hays gave up just a pair of runs to Weimer in tournament play at the Rattler Spring Break Classic softball tourney in San Marcos. Down 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Brock’s offense exploded for seven runs in the top half of the fifth frame, ending the scoring for the game and taking the win, 8-2.Brock swept pool play for tournament seeding prior to the victory over Weimer, beating Waco Robinson 2-0, Wofforth Frenship 5-0, while slipping by Bowie, 1-0. Hays pitched in all of the games. Brock returns home to host Jacksboro in a district match Tuesday.



Eagles hold off Peaster surge, 5-3

Peaster’s Ethan Murray and Gage Mitchell carded and RBI each in the fifth inning Thursday to pull the Hounds within two runs of Brock, but the Eagles’ Ty Holman used 12 strikeouts to hold off Peaster as Brock won the District 9-2A match, 5-3. Brock did its damage in the third and fourth frames, with Zac Patino leading the offense with three RBI, hitting a double in each of the two innings. Peaster pitcher Mitchell Gage had 10 Ks in taking the loss.
