Weatherford High School’s varsity boys’ soccer team kicked off District 3-6A action Friday night, falling to the Euless Trinity Trojans, 3-1 on the road.

The Roos gave up a goal three minutes into the game, but did not surrender another during the first half.

At the beginning of the second half, Kenny Kienle slid the ball in the right corner on a breakaway to tie up the game, 1-1.

Weatherford responded again 10 minutes later with a goal which was called back, before the Roos surrendered the lead for good off a free kick with 15 minutes left in the contest, as the Trojans held on for the win, 3-1.

Weatherford enjoys its first home match versus Abilene at 5 p.m. today.
