Weatherford High School’s varsity boys’ soccer team went 1-1 Saturday at the Brewer Bash tournament, beating V.R. Eaton, 1-0 before falling to Byron Nelson, 2-1.

Fresh off a 3-0 victory over Boswell earlier in the week, the Weatherford Kangaroo varsity soccer team added another mark to the win column with a 1-0 win versus the Fort Worth V.R. Eaton Eagles Saturday at the Brewer Bash tournament, powered by a corner kick from Ian San Pedro to go along with the shutout defensive performance.

The win sent Weatherford to the tournament’s championship game, where it faced the Byron Nelson Bobcats.

Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Kangaroos rallied back with a one touch shot to the corner net from Ebake Saidi, assisted by Kenny Kienle to tie the contest up.

Byron Nelson eventually pulled away with the win, 2-1 thanks to a late second-half goal.

Weatherford plays the Wichita Falls Rider Raiders in a non-district game at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on the road.
